Dental care
Professional oral hygiene, also called teeth cleaning, is the process of removing tartar, stains and plaque from the teeth and is a preventative measure to maintain a healthy mouth. Oral hygiene is carried out by a dentist or a hygienist.
Patients are advised to schedule a teeth cleaning every two to six months in order to keep the general health of all components in the mouth, i.e. teeth, bone, gum tissue, periodontal ligaments, under control. To ensure the teeth’s stability in the mouth, the supporting tissues must be kept healthy, which is the aim of a professional oral hygiene.
